
Robin N. Fiore is Adelaide R. Snyder Professor
of Ethics and Associate Professor of Philosophy at Florida Atlantic
University in Boca Raton, where she serves as Special Assistant to the
Dean for Ethics Initiatives and as Director of the Ethics, Law, and
Society program. She also holds an appointment as Voluntary Associate
Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University
of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Fiore’s research focuses on clinical ethics and social justice in
health care, women’s bioethics, and responsible conduct of
research. Her publications include articles on informed consent,
aging and end of life care, professionalism in health care, conflicts
of interest in research, justice and health care access, and science as
a public matter.
Dr. Fiore is active in two collaborative regional efforts linking
educational institutions, governmental agencies, nongovernmental
agencies, and advocacy groups − serving as a member of the Board of the
Florida Bioethics Network, and as co-director of the South Florida
Environmental Ethics Consortium. She has also served as consultant or
committee member for government and area institutional ethics
committees.
Dr. Fiore earned her Doctorate in Philosophy from Georgetown University
in Washington, DC, after post-baccalaureate studies in religion and
ethics at Drew University Graduate and Theological School in Madison,
New Jersey. She also completed a Frances Elvidge Post-Doctoral
Fellowship in Medical Ethics at the Ethics Center, University of South
Florida.
